2011 Fairest of the Fair

My name is Amber Mallmann and I am extremely proud to be serving you as this year’s Shawano County Fairest of the Fair. It has been a dream of mine not to only become a princess, but to also promote all of the great opportunities available where I grew up.
           
My older brother Brent and I were raised in Shawano by my dad and mom-Randy and Sheryl Mallmann. As a child I never went to daycare, my grandparents and two uncles allowed us to stay at the farm and even help out. Dillenburg Dairy Farms is held very close to my heart, because it is where I learned everything from work ethic, to patience. I still enjoy feeding calves, bailing hay, doing chores, and riding in a tractor just as when I was a child. Because of the farm, I have gotten involved in 4-H and FFA. I recently graduated from Shawano Community High School, and start my next adventure this fall when I attend Northeast Wisconsin Technical College to become a Physical Therapist Assistant.

In all of the recent changes I have encountered, I realize there is one special place I can go where everyone is happy, imagination is recommended, and they will never run out of good food. This place is the Shawano County Fair. It has been a tradition in my family to attend the fair every year, and the memories are priceless. In our economy it can be a financial burden to go out, but with only four dollars, you can watch your children grow up, meet up with your classmates, and start a never-ending tradition which I can guarantee will be passed down for years to come.
